Dear Bruce,
In the aMBSE Deskbook Version 1.02 chapter 8 the trade study concludes that the "electric trim control" solution is the best, i.e. there is supposed to be an electrical motor driving the trim tabs and extendning and retracting the control surfaces.
Then in in 8.8 you write:
Because this is the first iteration, we don’t have an existing subsystem architecture into which to insert the results of our trade study. When we get to architectural design (next), we will insert the solution where it makes sense. In some cases, the solution at this point is obvious as we’ve identified a subsystem. However, in this case, we’ve identified a subcomponent of one or more subsystems, so we will defer the merging the solution into the architecture until we’ve identified where it should go.
However I am unable to find where this electric motor shows up, or where it is mandated via requirements (design constraints) that this shall be the solution. Shouldn't there be a requirement mandating this specific solution?
In the system model AirSurfaceControlSystem.rpyx there should be something in ACES_Control_Surface_With_TrimPkg or ACES_Control_Surface_RetractingPkg right?
Looking in the respective subsystem models (ACES_Control_Surface_RetractingPkgModel.rpyx and ACES_Control_Surface_With_TrimPkgModel.rpyx) I canot find anything there either.
Please help!
All right, then I know it's not my lack of understanding thats the issue.
Thanks for qucik responses!
